Failed retriever training: Consistently refused to do outdoor retrieves, only performs indoor retrieves with favorite teddy bear.

Failed watchdog certification exam (excessive napping).

General qualifications: Instinctive sense of play and humor. Robust physicality.

Diet and nutrition: Strict opportunist and omnivore. Eats whenever possible, discriminates by odor and taste. Enjoys food tremendously.

First puppy tear: March 2, 1997, celebrating sunshine event and fresh grass.

Most puppy tears in one day: 5 on May 3, 2002. 

Most memorable puppy tear: June 2, 1999, alpine meadow in North Cascades, Washington. Confluence of spring weather, longer days, close proximity to dogs, people, toys and food.

(Note: A puppy tear is a wild display of locomotor exuberance and joy, usually consisting of charging back and forth, tail and butt tucked underneath. A giddy celebration of enthusiasm and robust happiness - sometimes described as “air on the brain.”)

Physical fitness level: World-class. Able to hike all day, swim for hours, run up and down mountains. Powerful muscles and ripped, razor-sharp abs. Outstanding aerobic capacity and prodigious core body strength. Impressive agility and coordination.

Hobbies: napping, power lounging, bothering humans, marking territory.
